Meditation
Packing for a meditation retreat (without overthinking it)
Less is more when the schedule already holds you. Here is a calm packing list for silent sits, walking practice, and shared houses.
Meditation retreats ask for presence more than gear. Pack for comfort and leave the “optimisation kit” at home.
Essentials
- Soft, quiet clothing in muted colours
- A warm layer for early sits
- Earplugs if you are a light sleeper in shared rooms
- Any prescribed medication - labelled
Usually leave behind
- Work laptops (unless the host says otherwise)
- Strong fragrances
- A full reading pile - one thin book is enough
Digital quiet
Many hosts ask for phones away during sits. Download offline maps before you travel, tell one person your schedule, then let the retreat hold the rest.
Browse meditation and wellness listings on Retreats, or read host policies on each detail page before you go.
